Vision Pro will be available in China no later than May, but will have a different name

Apple Vision Pro is set to make its debut in China as early as April, with a possible release no later than May, as reported by Asia's Wall Street News through IT Home. The device is currently in the final stages of registration with China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, although initial stock may be limited.

The majority of components for Apple's Vision Pro are sourced from China, with Luxshare serving as the exclusive assembler and Lens Technology providing the laminated front glass. Key components such as batteries, speakers, and sensor modules also hail from China.

However, Apple faces a potential hurdle in China due to Huawei holding the "Vision Pro" trademark in the country. Negotiations with Huawei may be necessary to secure the trademark for Apple's use in China, as Huawei actively employs it for a range of products including smart TVs and glasses.

While Apple has launched the Vision Pro recently in the U.S. on February 2nd, details regarding its availability in other countries remain undisclosed.

Insider sources within Apple, cited by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, suggest that the international rollout of the Vision Pro may not experience significant delays following its U.S. release. Potential early markets could include the United Kingdom and Canada, with plans to expand across Europe and Asia, encompassing regions like France, Germany, Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, and South Korea.

Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts that Apple may introduce the Vision Pro outside the U.S. before the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2024. This aligns with anticipated revelations about visionOS, the operating system powering the headset, during the conference.
