Apple reportedly considered and prototyped a battery powered HomePod mini years ago, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman in his recent Power On newsletter.
Gurman claims that he will be surprised if Apple actually launched a battery powered HomePod mini under the Apple brand, so this probably means that it won’t happen.
The news comes after Apple recently discontinued the Beats Pill Plus which was the only battery powered speaker they offered.
