Apple has updated AirTags after a growing number of cases where the device was used to stalk others started appearing.

People have reported that they were being tracked and even stalked by others who they believe hid AirTags into their personal belongings.

A new notification will now pop up saying an “Unknown Accessory Detected” which will also specify that a person is currently close to an AirTag which has been following them around.

Apple will also use Precision Finding which will allow you to find the AirTag and get rid of it as quickly as possible.

An unknown AirTag will also start to beep and a new notification will pop up notifying you of its presence. The AirTag will also emit an even louder sound now to alert you.

Apple’s new updates will prevent people with bad intentions to stalk others with these devices and make AirTags even safer to use.
