  • Apple’s September event will most likely be virtual again this year instead of in person

Apple delayed the reopening of its office for the return of mandatory in person working which was supposed to begin in September. The reopening was delayed by a month last week because of the sudden surge in COVID-19 cases caused by the Delta Variant. Now a new report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman says that Apple will cancel its plans to hold an in person event this year and will instead hold a virtual one for the announcement of the iPhone 13. The last in person event from Apple was back in September 2019 with the launch of the iPhone 11. If this ends up being true, it will be Apple’s second virtual September event. The iPhone 13 will still launch in September this year compared to the iPhone 12 which was delayed to October because of the pandemic.

  • Face ID will be available on the Mac within a couple of years

According to Mark Gurman, Apple will bring Face ID to the Mac in a couple of years. Gurman also previously claimed that Apple was originally going to put Face ID on this year’s iMac but delayed it since the chassis was thinner and wanted to launch it on another redesigned iMac. Gurman thinks that Apple will start building Face ID into the iPhone displays themselves so there won’t be any notch required for the sensor. Ming Chi Kuo claimed that a notch less iPhone will debut in 2023. Apple still continues to work on the new 27” iMac which hasn’t been unveiled yet.
