iPhone 16 will most likely have a vertically aligned rear camera module

A leak from Majin Bu on X suggests that Apple is considering changing the camera design for the base models of the iPhone 16, potentially aligning the lenses vertically.

In the iPhone 15 Pro series, Apple adjusted the lens positioning to align the wide and ultra-wide lenses for landscape mode, enabling Spatial Videos. These videos, viewable in 3D on the Vision Pro, appear like regular videos on the iPhone.

Rumors indicate that the non-Pro models of the iPhone 16 may also gain the ability to record Spatial Videos.

The camera module's appearance could resemble that of the iPhone X, with individual lens rings instead of a single glass piece covering both.

Regarding the 16 Pro models, Apple is reportedly exploring options to incorporate a periscope lens for enhanced optical zoom, a feature currently exclusive to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
