FineWoven might be on its way out as Apple has reportedly stopped production

Apple has put a halt to the production of its FineWoven accessories, as disclosed by Apple leaker known as "Kosutami."

In a recent post on X, Kosutami revealed that Apple's decision to discontinue FineWoven accessories is attributed to their subpar durability. It's speculated that the tech giant might explore alternative non-leather materials for its high-end accessories in future releases.

Kosutami has a history of sharing accurate insights into FineWoven accessories including predicting Apple's plans to introduce new Apple Watch bands crafted from a "woven fabric material" before their official launch, alongside matching iPhone cases.

Apple bid farewell to leather accessories last September, opting instead for the environmentally-friendly FineWoven material, incorporating 68% post-consumer recycled polyester. Prices for FineWoven accessories range from $59 for iPhone cases to $99 for Apple Watch bands.

FineWoven accessories have faced criticism from consumers, primarily due to concerns over durability and quality. Particularly conspicuous was the lack of FineWoven accessories in new color iterations during Apple's recent spring lineup refresh. Should Apple truly have halted production of FineWoven accessories, it might be a while before the current stock starts showing signs of depletion.
